Nick practises in the areas of securities, corporate finance, asset management and corporate/commercial, with an emphasis on mergers and acquisitions (public and private) and structured products. He has acted for clients on a variety of corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions by public and private issuers, private and public company financings, the establishment and operation of hedge funds, mutual funds and closed-end funds.
Nick joined the firm as a summer student in 2009 and completed his articles with the firm in 2011. He obtained both his LL.B. and B.Comm (Finance) from the University of Ottawa. While at law school, Nick was the recipient of the Tax Executives Institute Prize for highest standing in international taxation and the Osler Hoskin & Harcourt LLP Prize for highest standing in advanced taxation. Prior to and while attending law school, Nick spent several years working as a collection officer at the Canada Revenue Agency.
Nick has continued to pursue his interest in finance and investment management, having earned the Canadian Investment Manager (CIM) designation from the Canadian Securities Institute.
