Ryan practises primarily in the areas of securities, corporate finance and corporate/commercial law. He is also a member of the firm’s Debt Products Group.
Ryan has acted for clients in connection with public offerings and private placements of securities, commercial agreements, secured transactions, mergers, acquisitions, regulatory filings, corporate governance, leasing and other commercial real estate matters.
Ryan has acted on behalf of clients in a variety of industries such as banking, technology, financial services and real estate.
Ryan joined the firm as a summer student in 2014 and completed his articles with the firm in 2016. From August 2016 to April 2017, Ryan was on secondment to CI Financial where he worked in the internal legal department.
While attending law school at Queen’s University, Ryan completed a joint program to obtain his Master of Arts in Economics and received the Skelton-Clark Prize in Law and Economics. At Queen’s, Ryan played for the Faculty of Law hockey team and was a volunteer editor for the Queen’s Law Journal and the Canadian Labour and Employment Law Journal.
