Jonathan Born practises primarily in the areas of real estate and corporate and commercial law. Jonathan’s practice encompasses all aspects of real estate matters, including the acquisition, disposition, management, financing and development of all property classes, as well as joint ventures, limited partnerships and commercial leasing. Jonathan also practises in the Debt Products Group and acts on a number of real estate and construction related financings and corporate/securities transactions.
Michael Rennie practises primarily in the areas of securities, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and corporate/commercial law. He has acted for both private and publicly-listed clients in connection with a variety of matters, including equity and debt financings, going public transactions, take-overs and going private transactions, restructurings and reorganizations, commercial agreements, asset and share acquisitions and dispositions, start-up advice, securities law compliance and continuous disclosure obligations, and corporate governance matters. Michael advises clients in a diverse range of industries, including technology, cannabis, mining, private equity, construction, manufacturing, esports, fintech, financial services and entertainment.
Peter Volk practises primarily in the areas of corporate finance and securities law focusing on financings and M&A work for both issuers and investment banks, as well as corporate governance for issuers. Peter brings over 22 years of experience in the oil and gas, mining and natural resource industries. Prior to joining the firm, Peter served as General Counsel to Frontera Energy Corporation, Gran Colombia Gold Corp. and Bolivar Gold Corp., among others. Peter’s experience as General Counsel over this period serves the firm well as he has insights from a client’s perspective relating to all of the firm’s practice areas. Peter is active in the community, having helped raise funds for Right To Play and the Scarborough Rouge Hospital Foundation.
