Overview

Jeff is a lawyer practising primarily in the areas of corporate finance, securities, M&A and corporate/commercial law. Jeff first joined the firm as a summer student in 2020 and articled with the firm in 2021-2022. He holds a B.A. in philosophy from Simon Fraser and a J.D. from Osgoode Hall.

 

Jeff’s client-first and team-oriented approach stems from his experiences working in restaurants and touring nationally in a band. He assists clients across numerous industries including cannabis, technology (FinTech, blockchain, e-sports) and mining.

 

As part of the firm’s partnership with Canada Basketball, the National Sporting Organization for Basketball in Canada, Jeff is part of a team of lawyers providing pro bono legal services to BIPOC owned and operated businesses within the Basketball community who have applied, through Canada Basketball, for legal assistance to either launch or grow their businesses.

 

Jeff is also a supervising lawyer with the Osgoode Venture Capital Clinic which provides legal services to early-stage entrepreneurial ventures in the financing and equity structuring stages of growth.

 

During law school, Jeff participated in the Osgoode Venture Capital Clinic, the Lerners Cup Moot, the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and he worked as a Research Assistant in the Constitutional Law Department. He was the recipient of the Art Vertlieb Q.C. Award, the Ronald Robertson Q.C. Memorial Tax Prize and the Cassels Brock & Blackwell Prize for the highest standing in legal ethics.

 

Outside of the office, Jeff’s interests include supporting the Jays and the Canucks, lifting weights and playing guitar without a pick.
