Profile

Emma Weiss

Emma is an associate practising in the areas of tax, corporate finance and securities and corporate and commercial law. Emma first joined the firm as a summer student in 2020 and articled with the firm in 2021-2022.

Emma earned a Juris Doctor from The Faculty of Law at the University of Toronto. She also holds an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Queen’s University and a Master of Biomedical Discovery and Commercialization from McMaster University. Before law school, Emma worked in marketing at a global biopharmaceutical company.

During law school, Emma was a student advisor at The Hatchery, University of Toronto Engineering’s startup incubator. There she supported startups with their legal and business needs. In her final year of law school, she was a research assistant on a Genome Canada project and was involved with the Structural Genomics Consortium. In both roles Emma researched IP policy and pharmaceutical regulation.

Throughout law school, Emma worked as a rock climbing gym route setter and a snowboard instructor. Emma spends most of her free time climbing, at the gym, or on the slopes.
