Amir practices primarily in the areas of corporate/commercial, securities and mergers & acquisitions law.
Amir represents clients in a wide variety of industries including cannabis, cryptocurrency, technology, sports and entertainment including esports. He has regularly acted for both private and public companies and underwriter clients. Amir's experience includes acting on public and private offerings, merger and acquisition transactions and complex commercial agreements. Amir also actively advises entrepreneurs and start-up clients with a variety of corporate and commercial needs from incorporation onwards.
Significant representative work includes:
- The merger of Tokyo Smoke and DOJA Cannabis to form Hiku Brands Company Ltd.
- Canada's Walk of Fame's Partnership with Bell Media and CTV
- Acting for underwriters with respect to a variety of financings for cannabis companies, including Emblem Corp., Cannabis Growth Opportunity Corporation, ICC International Cannabis Corporation, Newstrike Resources Ltd. and Aleafia Inc.
Prior to joining Wildeboer Dellelce as an associate, Amir was both a summer and articling student at the firm. During his articles, he completed a secondment at the Ontario Securities Commission. He also founded the You Can Play Project’s Young Professionals Network, which has raised $30,000 for training for university athletes in Ontario to date.
Amir is a graduate of the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law. During law school, he was Chair of the Hockey Arbitration Competition of Canada, an event which he continues to be involved with both as a member of the Steering Committee and as a guest arbitrator.
