Ronald Schwass is a partner at the firm and head of its Structured Finance and Asset Management Group. Ronald practises in the areas of securities, corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions, primarily in relation to the asset management industries.
Ronald is active in all aspects of the financial services practice, from their establishment, registration and financing to undertaking acquisitions and integrating the operations of different organizations. He also acts for issuers and dealers in offerings of mutual fund management companies, in the establishment of all forms of alternative funds and in respect of innovative investment products offered to retail and institutional investors. Before entering private practice, Ronald was a solicitor in the Corporate Finance Branch of the Ontario Securities Commission (1987–1990), with particular responsibility for mutual fund regulation.
Ronald has authored numerous articles in his field and has been a frequent participant at industry conferences. He is included in the Who’s Who Legal: Capital Markets 2016 for Debt & Equity. He is listed in the peer-selected The Best Lawyers in Canada directory for his work in Mutual Funds Law and Private Funds Law and has been listed in all editions of The Canadian Legal Lexpert® Directory in the area of Investment Funds.
Ronald is currently a member of the Securities Advisory Committee to the Ontario Securities Commission.
