Tommy practises primarily in the areas of corporate, commercial and real estate law with a focus on commercial real estate transactions and general business law matters
Tommy acts for clients in connection with property development, sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial leasing and financing transactions, including acquisition and operating facilities. He is experienced with complex transactions in the hospitality sector involving restaurant, bar, retail and food/beverage production, leasing, partnership agreements, joint ventures and project financing, where he combines his passion for food and wine with hospitality expertise to help clients navigate strategic business and legal issues. Tommy’s focus on hospitality includes the representation of clients involving cannabis, liquor licensing and retail matters.
Outside of the office, Tommy is an avid musician and cyclist, as well as a certified sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers. When not providing legal services, Tommy can often be found advising clients, colleagues and friends on all things wine-related.
Tommy has been a volunteer with the Toronto General & Western Hospital Foundation as a cabinet member of the Brain Campaign for 2 years and, recently, as a founding council member of the new UHN Impact Collective—a council formed with the task of bridging new community relationships to bring awareness and raise funds to help achieve UHN’s vision of a healthier world.
Tommy joined the firm as a summer student in 2013 and completed his articles with the firm in 2015. During law school, Tommy participated in the Western Law Exchange Program where he studied at Copenhagen University. He has also lived abroad in Melbourne, Australia and Dijon, France.
