We are committed to providing a regular regime of continuing legal education and skills-based training to our team of legal professionals, including partners, associates, students and law clerks.
Once a month, the entire Wildeboer Dellelce legal team attends “Wildlaw University” – or simply “Wildlaw U”– a lecture-based seminar program put on by our senior lawyers. Sessions include a wide range of intermediate to advanced legal topics as well as sessions to enhance the business, financial and sector-specific acumen of our team of legal professionals.
We also offer monthly “Lunch & Learn” roundtable discussions led by one or more of our lawyers. From time to time, we also invite speakers from external organizations to present on a broad range of topics of interest that are relevant to our legal practice and/or specific areas of law that are outside of, or complementary to, our core practice areas.
In addition, lawyers and students receive business development skills and related soft skills training through our “Wildlaw Academy” program.
We provide our lawyers with in-house continuing professional development (CPD) training sufficient to satisfy the Law Society of Ontario’s (LSO) annual CPD requirement.
Wildeboer Dellelce LLP has been approved as an Accredited Provider of Professionalism Content by the LSO, which enables the firm to deliver professionalism content in CPD programs that addresses topics related to professional responsibility, ethics, practice management and/or equality, diversity and inclusion, without the need to apply for accreditation of such content from the LSO.
Further, to supplement our in-house training programs and keep our legal team abreast of legal industry trends and developments we offer access to numerous external CPD programs.
However, at the end of the day, there is no substitute for “learning-by-doing.” There is no better way for students and junior associates to become great lawyers than by being active participants and contributors to a broad range of legal work, including client interaction, which is what we strive to offer.
