We are happy to announce that Alfred Apps has re-joined the firm to focus on mergers and acquisitions, private equity fund formation and investment, corporate finance, structured finance and restructurings. Alfred will be based out of the firm’s Toronto office.
Alfred was one of the original founders of the firm. He was for many years an associate, partner and counsel at Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP. He was also CEO of the Lehndorff Group (1993-1998) and of NewStar Technologies Inc. (1998-2001). Alfred has been active in a number of community organizations, most recently as Chair of the CAMH Foundation, President of the Empire Club and President of the Liberal Party of Canada.
Highly ranked in LEXPERT, Alfred has a transaction-oriented practice focused on emerging Canadian and mid-market businesses, as well as complex financings and restructurings. He was debtor counsel in the $32 Billion ABCP restructuring (2009-2010), the largest restructuring in Canadian history.
