Overview

Kyra Flomen is a lawyer practising primarily in the areas of corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and commercial law. She advises clients on a broad range of transactions and corporate matters, with experience supporting public and private companies across various stages of growth. Kyra first joined the firm as a summer student in 2022 and completed her articles with the firm in 2023–2024.

 

Kyra’s practice includes assisting publicly listed issuers, particularly in the natural resources sector, on securities law compliance, public and private financings, continuous disclosure obligations, stock exchange matters, and corporate governance. She also assists emerging growth companies and established private businesses with a variety of financing, commercial, and transactional matters, including venture capital investments, strategic acquisitions, dispositions, and other M&A transactions.

 

Prior to joining the firm, Kyra served as a supervising lawyer with the Osgoode Venture Capital Clinic, where she provided legal support to early-stage entrepreneurial ventures on financing, corporate structuring, and growth-related matters.

 

Kyra earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University, where she received the Caleb J. Hayhoe Award for achieving the highest standing in the International Business Transactions course. Prior to attending law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of British Columbia.

 

During law school, Kyra was actively involved in student leadership and mentorship initiatives, including supporting alumni engagement efforts through the Osgoode Women’s Network, Jewish Law Students Association and Osgoode Business Law Society.

 

Outside of the office, Kyra enjoys travelling, discovering new restaurants and listening to podcasts.
