Niall Sweeney

Niall is a corporate and securities lawyer with a focus on capital markets transactions and securities regulatory matters, working with both issuers and investment banks. His practice includes go-public transactions, mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, and other business transactions, along with advising public issuers on corporate governance and continuous disclosure requirements.

He works across a variety of industries, including industrial and consumer goods, mining, energy, and technology.

Niall serves as a supervising lawyer for the Osgoode Venture Capital Clinic, where he helps early-stage ventures with financing and equity structuring. He is also an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School and a member of the Alliott Global Alliance, an international network of independent professional services firms.

He holds a Juris Doctor from both the University of Windsor Faculty of Law and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Toronto.

Outside of law, Niall has served on boards and committees for various not-for-profit organizations in Toronto. He was awarded the Toronto Fire Services Certificate of Merit and enjoys playing golf and hockey, along with supporting Toronto’s professional sports teams.
