Overview

Sarah is a lawyer practising primarily in the areas of corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and commercial law. Sarah joined the firm as a summer student in 2018 and articled with the firm in 2019-2020.

 

Mandates that Sarah has been involved with include acting for:

 

  • The Special Committee of Northview Fund in its recapitalization transaction, including the acquisition of three real property portfolios for $742 million, and its intention to internalize management and restructure as “Northview Residential REIT”.
  • Heliene Inc., a North American-made solar PV module manufacturer, in financings totaling US$170 million.
  • Agents in connection with Starlight U.S. Residential Fund’s $311.7 million initial public offering.
  • Gran Colombia Gold Corp. in its US$300 million offering.
  • Underwriters in connection with Sucro Limited’s $15 million initial public offering.
  • NG Energy in various financings including its $70 million non-brokered private placements of debenture units, its US$100 million secured financing from Macquarie Group, and the related conversion of its outstanding secured convertible debentures.

 

Sarah is a former supervising lawyer with the Osgoode Venture Capital Clinic which provides legal services to early-stage entrepreneurial ventures in the financing and equity structuring stages of growth. She is a member of Alliott Global Alliance, an international alliance of independent professional services firms.

 

Sarah earned a Juris Doctor (with distinction) from the Faculty of Law at Western University, where she was a recipient of the Law Society of Upper Canada Prize. 

 

During law school, she served as a co-chair of the Orientation Committee, as well as the executive graphic designer for both the Yearbook Committee and the Gender and the Law Association. She participated in various advocacy competitions throughout law school and was one of four students representing Western Law in the province-wide Winkler Class Action Moot.

 

Prior to law school, she studied Psychology and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree (with high distinction) from Wilfrid Laurier University, where she was the recipient of the Alumni Bronze Medal. Sarah was also a research assistant to a professor in the Faculty of Science at Wilfrid Laurier University, assisting in the administration of cognitive neuroscience and collective cognition experiments.

 

Outside of law, Sarah’s interests include the visual arts, playing soccer, and travelling.
