Krystle Formhals

Overview
Krystle is a lawyer practising primarily in the areas of debt, corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate and commercial law. Krystle first joined the firm as a summer student in 2021 and articled with the firm in 2022-2023.
Krystle received her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. Prior to entering law school, Krystle obtained an Honours Bachelor of Commerce (Summa Cum Laude) from McMaster University, Faculty of Commerce, where she specialized in Accounting and Actuarial and Financial Mathematics.
During law school, Krystle was a Dean’s Legal Research and Writing Fellow and a Teaching Assistant for the Principles of Legal Research. She was a Legal Writing Leader for the Writing Academy, as well as a Dispute Resolution Practicum Student who assisted in leading the first year Dispute Resolution and Professional Responsibility course. Krystle was also a mentor to a student enrolled in the Toronto Metropolitan University’s inaugural law program, and a Commercial Law Teaching Assistant at McMaster University.
Krystle was the recipient of the Dentons Prize in Commercial Law, the William J Miller Prize in Competition Law, and the Harry P Beahen, QC Memorial Prize in Insurance Law. Krystle also authored a paper entitled, “A Critical Analysis of Ontario’s Health Care Coverage Decision-Making Process”, which is published with the Health Law in Canada Journal.
In her free time, Krystle enjoys rock climbing, hiking and is an avid language learner.
