Mariam Al-Shikarchy
Overview
Mariam is a partner in the firm’s Tax practice group. Her practice focuses on all aspects of domestic and international tax planning, with particular emphasis on domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate reorganizations, corporate finance, investment funds and employee executive compensation. Mariam has extensive experience in Canadian income tax and has represented a diverse range of clients ranging from start-ups, multinational private and public corporations, investment funds, pension funds and high-net worth individuals.
Mariam is a recipient of the 2023 Lexpert Rising Stars Award and was featured in 2024 as a Leading Lawyer to Watch in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory for Corporate Tax.
Mariam is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Bar associations and the Canadian Tax Foundation. She was called to the Bar in 2010 after obtaining her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School.
