Halley Baker

Halley is a summer student at the firm for the 2026 term. She is expected to earn her Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa in 2027.

In law school, Halley serves as Vice President of Communications for the Indigenous Law Student Governance. She has worked as a Research Assistant for Brock University, assessing gaps in Indigenous education across Canada. Halley has also held roles as a Teaching Assistant for the University of Ottawa’s first-year Property Law course and as a Caseworker with the University of Ottawa Community Legal Clinic in the Community Legal Education division.

Prior to attending law school, Halley completed a Bachelor of Arts in Equity, Diversity and Human Rights at Laurentian University. During her undergraduate studies, she worked in administrative support and financial administrator roles at an insurance and benefits brokerage, while also serving as a Youth Ambassador for Compass, Boussole, Akii-Izhinoogan, a youth mental health organization, and Future North, a youth engagement and advocacy organization.

In her free time, Halley enjoys being outdoors, particularly camping and hiking. She also loves spending time with her cats Vader, Nikko, Jax and Missy. Originally from Sudbury, Ontario, Halley is looking forward to exploring Toronto and all the city has to offer.
